I was asked to choose a problem that I was interested in, bullying in my case, and find a solution to this problem.

I was given finding a solution to educating about bullying as my assignment. As I moved into the project, I remembered something my elementary school did when I was a child called conflict managers. This was a group of kids at the school that patrolled the playground at recess and when a conflict between kids arose, they worked as a third party who could mediate. Remembering this helped inspire the development and design for Upstander.
